More sad news

I’m afraid there is more sad news on the rabbit front.

It looks that Joey has caught the Encephalitozoon cuniculi infection that caused Sun to die. He has lost a lot of weight, very unsteady on his back leg, and seems to be very clingy.

Fae, his companion, doesn’t show any symptoms at the moment, which is a relief, but it would be logical to assume she is also infected. Luna, our third rabbit, shows no signs and has always been kept separate from the other rabbits.

We’re absolutely devistated, obviously. We’ve only just started to get over losig Sun to this disease, and now it seems we’re going to lose Joey.

We have moved Fae and Joey in to the kitchen, and quarantined Luna to the hall (the furthest place from the kitchen). From our research, the infection is only spread in their urine, so there is almost 0% risk of it spreading.

Tonight we’re going to smash up the outdoor hutch and throw it away. The hutch has had too many past occupants - Charlie, Macy, Earl and Sun - all of which have left us one way or another.
